 Northamptonshire VCS Countywide Forum is pleased to announce its first Chair, John Nightingale and Deputy Chair, Mark Lees. The Countywide Forum is a newly formed body representing the Voluntary sector giving it one collective voice for Northamptonshire. The Countywide Forum is a two way communication channel between the VCS, Northamptonshire County Council, the District and Borough Councils and their partners . The forum is an information hub where all members can go for consultation, ideas and feedback. The newly elected Steering Group of the Countywide Forum has appointed John Nightingale as their Chair. John is the Director of The Manna House Counselling Service and he has worked in the voluntary sector for over 28 years. He has taken an active role within the sector for a number of years which has included working with the Mental Health Thematic Partnership, serving as a voluntary sector representative on the NCC Community Funding Advisory Panel and as a voluntary sector representative on the Health and WellBeing Board. Mark Lees has been nominated by the Steering Group as Deputy Chair of the forum. Mark works as Minister at the Full Gospel Church in Rushden. He dedicates much of his time and energy to community social action and promotion of the VCS. Mark serves as a Development Officer for the East Northants Faith Group. He has lived and worked in Northamptonshire for the last seven years and has seen the development of a night shelter facility with all appropriate support networks. He has also overseen a whole range of new community projects. Both John and Mark will work collectively with the Countywide Forum Steering Group to have a positive impact on the sector and will give Northamptonshire charities and groups a stronger voice. |
